Ring money in gold

This is a part of a larger ring money in gold. It weighs 9,5 grams and dates most probably from roman ironage around year 0- 375 AD.It is found somewhere around Roskilde in Denmark og handed in to the local museum in Roskilde.

 

 

Part of a bronzeage disc headed needle

This is a very interesting find from the bronzeage.A rare disc headed needle dating around 1100-500 BC. The norweagian needles have often five discs. This is one of them. found by Lars Petter Toran og handed in to the Museum of Archaeology in Oslo.

Farmers FOB seal

This is a farmers FOB seal.Date unknown but could well date bak to the middleages. Found in Thy,Denmark by Trygve Maaleng and handed in to the Museum of archaeology in Thisted.

 

 

Urnes fibula

 

This Urnes fibula in bronze has been dated by the museum to be from the vikng era and around year 1000 -1050 AD.It is a rare variant of the Urnes fibula since the loops are all underneath the animal.It is found by Lars Petter Toran and handed in to the Museum of Archaeology in Oslo.

Here is yet another Urnes fibula.A fantastic find from the viking era found by Tommy Olesen near Rosklde in Denmark. Handed in to the local museum in Roskilde.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cavalier penning

Christian the 4th, 2 skilling lybian (minted in Lubeck) Gluckstad after 1624. Found in Moss by Hugo Falck and handed in to the Museum of Archaeology in Oslo.

 

 

 

Guilded heads

Two guilded heads in bronze linked together (might original have been 3 or more?) The heads have simularities to the male head from the Oseberg shipfuneral finds) One of the heads has beard,and both have a distinctive haircombe. This find was found somewhere in Lolland,Denmark by Thor Holmboe and is handed over to the Lolland&Falster Stifts Museum. Could these portraits be of a Germanic tribe called "Sveber"? The Svebers is known for their very unusual way of putting up their hair in a knot prior and during the Viking era.

 

 

Disc brooch with bearheads in Borre-style.

This lovely decorated disc brooch has bear heads in Borre-style ingraved in an collaborated pattern. The fibula is found by Thor Holmboe somewhere in Lolland,Denmark and has been handed in to the Museum of Lolland & Falster Stifts
