Equal armed brooch

This is an equal armed brooch from the last part of the older germanic ironage.That is:last part of 500AD.This is 1 of only 9 known brooches of this kind ever to have been found in the east part of Norway, and the only one from the county of Akershus. found in Garder,Vestby by Aage Olsen.Handed over to the museum of archaeology in Oslo.

Gold ingot

Gold ingot from appr.roman ironage-older germanic ironage :0-550AD. The Ingot consists of both gold,silver and copper, which explains the cracks in the ingot. Found on an assignment for the museum of archaeology in Stavanger on Avaldsnes in Rogaland by John Kvanli.

disc brooch

Disc-brooch from the younger germanic ironage /merovingian time approx.600-800 AD

This is a disc brooch in bronze med decorations consisting with consentrical rings. The hole in the middle is after a pin which probably have held a piece of bone or part of a tooth from a walrus.a needle can be seen on the back of it. There has only been known 3 brooches like this in Rogaland before.All found by Rygene members.This one is found at Utsola in Sola, Rogaland by John Kvanli.Handed over to the museum of archaeology in Stavanger

Part of a key from Viking Era/ Early Middleage

Part of a key in bronze,probably from the Viking Era / early middleage. its found in Rygge by Aage Olsen and handed in to the museum of archaeology in Oslo. A key like this was ment to push- open a lock, and was not designed to turn- open the lock like we do today.

Book clasp which might symbolize "St.jørgen and the dragon" and originates from an early medieval book from a monastary in Hasted, Lolland,Denmark. Found by Thor Holmboe and handed in to Lolland Falster Stiftsmuseum.
