Annular brooch

This is an annular brooch in bronze probably from the middleages. Found in Rygge in Oestfold by Aage Olsen. Handed over to the museum of archaeology in Oslo

Disc brooch from merovingian time(600-800AD)

Found by Morten Eek at Haaland in Sola,Rogaland.The brooch has consentrical rings and is lovely ingraved with small borders with triangles.Some sort of bone have been in the middle of it,perhaps bone from a walrus tooth.As mentioned earlier,this booch together with John`s brooches are the only known of its kind found in Rogaland .Handed over to the museum of archaeology in Stavanger

Carolingian Denier (pfennig)

Traveling currency? The coin is from Ludvig den fromme German-roman emperor 814-840AD. Only 5 known coins of this kind have been found in Norway up to present day.The first picture shows the finding,the next how they really looked like. Found by Aage Olsen. Handed over to the coin cabinet in Oslo.

Beak fibula

Beak fibula from merovingian time ( 6-700AD). Found by Thor Holmboe on Lolland,Denmark. GPS registered and handed over to the local museum.

 

Viking Axe

Viking Axe

This is one of two axes which where found by metaldetectors on the construction site of a new golf course at Evje,Rygge in Eastfold. Its very likely to think that both axes comes from an unrecorded grave that where destroyed during the building of the golf course. Found by Aage Olsen. Handed over to the Museum of Archaeology in Oslo

 

 

Sword/scabbard in bronze

All parts where found seperately within a consentrated area and assambled to a nearly complete arthefact. Early Bronzeage. Found by Tommy Olesen , Sjaelland,Denmark. Handed in to the National Museum in Copenhagen

Keys from the Viking age

These two keys have been found 1,5 years in between on the same field and place.the keys are from one or two boxes.
The artefacts have been found in Little Utterslev on Lolland,Denmark by Thor Holmboe 2005 - 06. Handed in to (LFS )Lolland-Falster Stiftmuseum.
