About The Thy Rally:
Thy Rally is a detectorist-gathering that is being held once a year in Thy, Denmark by Thy-Mors Detectorunion and NDF-Nordic Detectorforum,and in cooperation and blessing with the Museum of Archaeology in Thisted. Together theese parties have selected some areas and fields that they believe is archaological and historical interesting to have searched this weekend. All interesting finds are being registered by GPS out in the field and then showed at the end of the day to museuminspector Jens-Henrik Beck from the Museum of Archaeology in Thisted who descide what are "Danefae"and therefore protected as arthefacts of cultural and historical value.
New to this year was that we where visited by the National Museum of Archaelogy in Copenhagen.Museumsinspector Peter Vang Petersen had come to leacture about Danish archaeology and what an important contributor metaldetectorist are for the cultural heritage in Denmark.This leacture and his presens was very much valuaded by our fellow detectorist at the rally.
Henrick Brinch Christiansen from Nordic Detectorforum has made a fantastic movie from the Thy Rally.
